Henry represents Oakland and its constituents on a variety of committees within City Hall, Alameda County and the state. Currently, he serves on the:

City of Oakland's Life Enrichment Committee
This committee is charged with enhancing Oakland's cultural activities. It also works to increase employment opportunities and training for Oakland citizens, promotes accessible and high quality programs to engage children, youth and seniors, and it works in partnership with the Oakland Unified School District and other educational entities.
>The committee meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in Hearing Room 1 at City Hall.

Education Partnership Committee
This committee serves as a liaison between the city and the Oakland Unified School District. Members include elected City Council people and members of the school board. The committee strives to provide high quality programs to engage Oakland's youth in healthy and educational activities, among other things.

Public Works Committee
The Public Works Committee is charged with maintaining and improving Oakland's infrastructure, and providing an environmentally safe city with an enhanced physical appearance.

Community and Economic Development
This committee deals with a range of issues related to the physical development and economic vitality of the city.
